Zombodied in Lolbertopia USA

Will a Body Count of Disaffected Libertarians Push Trump Over the Top?

The dopest libertarian cope ever, believe me. I've never heard anything like it, but here it is.

"Chased" Out of the Presidential Nomination

Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate Chase Oliver never left the Democratic Party. One wonders if the Democratic Party ever even left him.

Two years ago, the Mises Caucus decisively took over the Libertarian Party in a landslide victory in Reno, Nevada. That moment should have changed everything, and given the libertarian movement a home; the actual libertarian movement based on the philosophy of non-aggression and private property, rigorously debated by serious, principled individuals who understood the value and vision of a free society.

Such individuals would scoff at the notion of libertarianism at an effort to combine fiscal conservatism with social liberalism that picks and chooses its positions from the Duopoly. No, these die-hards would not take kindly to such a trespass, and frankly find their intelligence insulted.

The refried Duopoly leftovers would be sent home to discover their speaking fees now earning pennies on the dollar in a room of ten people.

All of this seems like a given for the glove.

But instead, we must observe:

  • Philosophical libertarians don't necessarily run the Libertarian Party.

  • Refried Duopoly leftovers have little trouble renting the LP soapbox.

  • There is as much enthusiasm in the LP for “voluntarizing” compliance with the Regime and advancing Cultural Marxism as there is for a grounded resistance to the Cathedral.

As a result, the Libertarian Party chose Chase Oliver as its Presidential Candidate.

Tom Woods had some words on this matter in a recent newsletter entry:

During the Covid period, the party's leadership had been as useless as the Covid masking and lockdowns they barely lifted a finger to oppose.

Then of course they went in for every left-wing fad and every bit of dumb-guy wokery you can imagine.

That had to stop. Whatever the future was to hold, that right there had to stop.

How you let a craving for mainstream respectability destroy the greatest opportunity libertarians have ever had is beyond me.

Woods continues:

The same people who congratulated themselves on booing the former president [Donald Trump] just handed him the best gift the party could have given: a cultural leftist who will attract zero disaffected right-wingers (and since no disaffected left-wingers are considering the LP, it's a gratuitous minus with no upside), who will now simply hold their noses and vote for Trump.

Just Asking the Most Qualifying Questions

Liz Wolfe of Reason Magazine found herself at a loss with Oliver's views on gender reassignment.

Chris Cuomo Gets Zombodied by Dave Smith

Patrick Bet-David of Valuetainment hosted a three-hour debate between former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo and libertarian comedian Dave Smith.

Although Cuomo's post-CNN career has been characterized as a rehabilitation tour, he apologizes for nothing. When Cuomo failed to own up to his record, he humiliated himself.

Save the suit and tie, Cuomo brought very little to the table. I'm surprised how his defensive conciliatory act bought him enough space to get through most of it in one piece, but there was otherwise nowhere to run from his record of unsubstantiated proclamations that were later debunked. If he expected Smith to be a low-IQ jokester, he fell for it hard.

That was worth some serious Silverback smackers.
